Baked Cranberries and Pears

Ingredients

  • 2 cups 500 mL raw cranberries
  • 2 cups 500 mL peeled, chopped fresh pears
  • 1 cup 250 mL sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups 375 mL Robin Hood® Quick Oats 
  • 1/2 cup 125 mL packed brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup 75 mL Robin Hood Original All Purpose Flour 
  • 1 tsp 5 mL ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp 5 mL ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup 125 mL chopped pecans (optional)
  • 1/2 stick

    All-Vegetable Shortening

    Crisco® All-Vegetable Shortening Sticks, melted 

Preparation

  1. Heat oven to 325ºF (160°C).
  2. In a 2-quart (2L) baking dish, combine cranberries, pears, and granulated sugar. In a medium bowl, mix remaining ingredients; spread over cranberry-pear mixture.
  3. Bake for about 1 hour until lightly browned and bubbly. Serve warm or at room temperature.
